ITALIAN CASSEROLE WITH BISCUITS 
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 c. diced onion
3/4 c. water
1/4 tsp. pepper
8 oz. tomato sauce
6 oz. tomato paste
9 oz. frozen mixed vegetables (thawed)
8 oz. Mozzarella cheese
10 oz. can biscuits

Brown ground beef and onion, drain fat. Add water, pepper, tomato sauce and tomato paste. Simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vegetables and 1 1/2 cup cheese. Spoon into greased 9 x 11 (2 quart) baking dish. Separate dough into 10 biscuits. Slice each biscuit into 2 layers. Place biscuits on top, around outer edge, overlapping slightly. Sprinkle remaining cheese in center, brush biscuits with melted butter and sprinkle with oregano. Bake at 375 degrees 20 to 25 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
