Preheat oven to 400°F.

1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix shortening, sugar and eggs together. Sift flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt together and stir in. Roll in balls in 2 tablespoons of sugar with 2 teaspoons cinnamon.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet.
