DARK CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
1/2 c. butter (part Spry) 3 sq. bitter chocolate 1 c. boiling water 1 1/2 c. sugar 2 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. sour cream or thick milk 2 eggs, beaten without separating In large mixing bowl combine butter and chocolate. Pour 1 cup boiling water over this and beat until thoroughly dissolved. Add sugar. Sift together flour, soda, and salt; add to above mixture. Add sour cream or thick milk. Lastly, add eggs, beaten without separating. Pour into well-greased and floured cake tins. Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Mixture may seem thin but result is a moist light cake. Use your favorite icing. |
