CAROL'S LASAGNA 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground linguica
1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
2 tsp. garlic salt
1 1/2 tsp. oregano leaves
1 med. onion, chopped
2 c. cottage cheese
2 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
3 (4 oz.) pkg. shredded mozzarella cheese
1 pkg. cooked noodles

In a large skillet cook ground beef and ground linguica until done, then drain fat from pan. Add can of whole tomatoes and break up with a fork, add can of tomato paste, garlic salt, oregano leaves and onion. Stir and heat to boiling then lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a small bowl mix cottage cheese with 1/2 cup of the Parmesan cheese and set aside. Also set aside 1 cup of the meat sauce and 1/2 cup of the shredded cheese. Cook noodles as directed and when done carefully place 1 layer of noodles, sauce, cottage cheese and shredded cheese in an ungreased square baking dish. Repeat that sequence 3 times and top off with reserved sauce and cheese and bake for 45 minutes. When done take out oven and cool before cutting into squares.
