OATMEAL CAKE 
CAKE:

1 c. oatmeal
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

TOPPING:

1/2 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. cream
1 c. coconut
1 c. pecans, chopped
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine oatmeal and boiling water. Let stand for 20 minutes. Blend sugars and butter. Add 2 well beaten eggs to sugar mixture. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to sugar/egg mixture. Add oatmeal. Bake in well greased 9 x 13 inch pan at 325 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes. For topping, mix all ingredients together and spread over cake and broil approximately 6 minutes.
