3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. soft butter
6 tbsp. brown sugar
6 tbsp. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. water
1 egg
1 c. uncooked oatmeal
1/2 c. nuts
1 c. chocolate bits

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift together and set aside flour, salt, and baking soda. Blend together butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla, and water. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture, oatmeal and nuts. Spread in greased 9x13 inch pan.

Sprinkle 1 cup (6 oz.) chocolate bits over top. Place in oven for 1-2 minutes. Run knife through dough to marbelize. Return to oven for 12-14 minutes. Cool and cut into 2-inch squares. Makes 24 squares.
