QUICK GINGER BREAD 
2 1/4 c. flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. sugar
1 c. molasses
4 tbsp. shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. ginger
1 c. buttermilk

Sift flour, soda, salt and ginger. Mix all other ingredients until ready creamy, add buttermilk and dry ingredients. Bake in a 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes. While warm, top with lemon sauce.

LEMON SAUCE:

2/3 c. 10X powdered sugar
1/3 c. white sugar
1/4 c. lemon juice
1/4 c. water

Cook until thin syrup. Pour over warm cake. Top with Cool Whip when ready to serve.
