CORN BREAD 
1 c. white or unbleached flour
2 c. cornmeal
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. sugar
2 eggs
3 tbsp. melted shortening
1 c. sweet milk

Beat eggs; add sugar. Sift flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt together. Add to beaten egg mixture. Stir in melted shortening and milk. Stir just enough to mix thoroughly. Pour into greased 8" square pan. Bake at 425 degrees until golden brown.
