RAISIN FRUIT CAKE 
1 c. shortening
2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
3 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. raisin juice
2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. stewed seedless raisins
1 c. chopped walnuts

Cream shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Sift flour, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg together (3 times). Dissolve soda in raisin juice. Add dry ingredients and liquid, stir until mixture is creamed, beating well after each. Add raisins, nuts and blend thoroughly. Pour into a tube pan, which has been well greased with shortening. Bake in a moderate oven, 325 to 350 degrees until done, about 1 hour.
