YEAST BISCUITS 
In pan, heat following ingredients, until shortening melts, stirring all the time:

1 c. milk
2 1/2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 rounded tbsp. shortening

Cool to lukewarm, then sprinkle in 1 package dry yeast. Stir until dissolved, then add:

2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder

Beat until smooth. Let rest 10 minutes. Turn onto floured surface. Knead dough 20 times. Roll to 1/2 inch thick; cut with biscuit cutter. Place on greased cookie sheet and let raise 1 hour and 15 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.
