FOOL PROOF DIVINITY | |
3 c. C & H sugar 1/2 c. white Karo syrup 3/4 c. water 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. egg white (2 med.) 1 c. nuts (optional) Combine sugar, syrup and water. Cook over low heat. Bring to a boil. Cover and boil 3 minutes without stirring. Uncover and cook to hard ball stage. Add salt and vanilla to egg whites. Beat until stiff. Beat in hot syrup slowly, pouring a thin stream from a height of 1 foot. Stir in nuts and beat until it sets. Drop by teaspoons onto waxed paper or pour in greased pan. Electric mixer can be used most of the way. |
