TURNIP CUSTARD 
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. grated raw turnip
3 c. scalded sweet milk
1 tsp. grated onion
1 tsp. chopped parsley
1 tsp. green pepper
3 tbsp. melted butter
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
Salt
Pepper
Nutmeg

Beat 3 eggs slightly. Stir in 1 1/2 cups grated raw turnip, alternately with 3 cups scalded sweet milk, seasoned to taste with salt, pepper, nutmeg. Beat briskly until foamy. Stir in 1 teaspoon each of grated onion, chopped parsley and green pepper and 3 tablespoons of melted butter. Turn into buttered baking dish, dust with 1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) for 40 to 45 minutes, or until set. Serve at once from baking dish.
