SCOTTISH SHORTBREAD 
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
2 1/4 c. sifted flour

Cream together butter and sugar. Combine flour with this to give a stiff dough. Roll out on a floured board to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out cookies and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until light golden brown.
