AUNT ROSE'S ORANGE BONBON CAKE 
3/4 c. shortening
3/4 tsp. salt
1 med. orange, grated rind & juice
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 tsp. baking powder
3 c. sifted flour
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Combine shortening, salt and rind. Add sugar gradually and cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Add baking powder to flour and sift 3 times.

Combine orange and lemon juices and add water to make 1 cup. Add small amounts of flour to creamed mixture, alternating with juice mixture, mixing after each addition. Pour batter into 2 greased 9 inch cake pans. Bake in hot oven, 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and frost.
