S.'S BUTTER CREAM FROSTING 
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. white Crisco shortening
1/2 c. softened butter
1 sm. can evaporated Pet milk (2/3 c.)
2 tsp. vanilla extract
Pinch of salt

Cream granulated sugar, Crisco shortening and butter until smooth with electric mixer. Bring 2/3 cup of evaporated Pet milk to the boiling point in a separate saucepan. Add very gradually, in very small amounts, to the creamed butter mixture. Beat on high speed of electric mixer for approximately 20 minutes, until creamy. Add 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Frosting will stand in peaks.
