HERSHEY'S GREAT AMERICAN
CHOCOLATE COOKIES
 
1 c. butter (softened)
3/4 c. packed light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. (12 oz. pkg.) Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. nuts (optional)

Cream butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs; beat well. Combine flour, baking soda, salt; gradually beat into creamed mixture. Stir in chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until browned. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet. 6 dozen cookies.
