3 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. shortening or butter Crisco
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sour milk

Mix all of these ingredients together in a bowl. Roll out dough. Cut with cookie cutters. Place cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Set oven to 425 degrees.
