CRANBERRY CHEESE BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. grated orange peel
2 tbsp. shortening
Juice of 1 orange
1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 beaten egg
1/2 c. cranberries, halved
1 c. chopped walnuts

Measure first 6 ingredients; mix together. Cut in shortening. Add water to juice to make 3/4 cup. Mix with cheese and egg. Stir cranberries. Pour into 9x4x3-inch loaf pan that is lined with foil; bake 60-70 minutes (test for dryness). Cool 8 hours.
