TANGY MEAT LOAF | |
1/2 c. ketchup 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp. season salt 1 1/2 tsp. onion powder 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 plus tsp. black pepper 1 egg 2 tbsp. chopped green pepper 1 1/2 c. Wheat Chex cereal 1 1/2 lb. ground beef In a large bowl, combine ketchup, sugar and mustard. Reserve 4 tablespoons for topping. To the remaining, add Worcestershire sauce, salt, onion, garlic powder, pepper and egg. Blend well. Stir in green pepper and Wheat Chex. Break up Wheat Chex as you add beef. Mix well. Shape into a loaf in shallow baking pan. Bake in 350°F oven for 65 minutes. Spread the top with reserved ketchup mixture and bake an additional 15 minutes. |
