DATE CANDY ROLL 
1 c. milk
2 c. sugar
4 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. shredded coconut
1 (7 oz.) pkg. dates, halved

Place milk and sugar on saucepan. Cook until soft ball stage (235 degrees). Add halved dates. Stir and cook until mixture leaves the sides of the pan. Remove from fire. Add coconut and nuts. Beat until it begins to become firm. Pour on wet cloth. Roll into a loaf and cut when cold. About 30 (1/4 inch) pieces.
