COOKED PLAYDOUGH (Not to be
eaten!)
 
1/2 c. salt
1 c. flour
2 tbsp. cream of tartar
1 c. water
1 tbsp. oil
Drop or 2 of food coloring if desired

Cook over medium heat in a heavy saucepan 5 minutes, stir constantly; is ready when it pulls away from pan. Allow to cool. Recipe can be easily doubled; keeps well if stored in plastic between use. Has a firm texture and does not dry out readily.
