SOUTHERN BARBECUE SANDWICH | |
1 lb. boneless sirloin or flank steak 1/2 c. ketchup 1/4 c. yellow mustard 1/2 tsp. hickory salt 3/4 c. Worcestershire sauce, divided 1/2 c. light molasses 2 tbsp. red hot sauce 4 sandwich buns, split Place steak in large resealable plastic food bag. Pour 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce, mustard, red hot sauce and hickory salt over steak in medium saucepan. Bring to boil over high heat. Reduce to low heat. Cook for 5 minutes until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. Set aside. Discard marinade. Grill steak over hot coals for 15 minutes, turning over once. Remove steak from grill and let stand for 5 minutes. Cut steak diagonally into thick slices. Stir meat into barbecue sauce. Cook until heated through, stirring often. Serve steak and sauce on sandwich buns. Garnish as desired. Makes 4 servings. |
