PESTO 
2 c. fresh basil leaves
2 tbsp. pine nuts (opt.)
1/4 c. olive oil
5 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp. salt

Blend all ingredients in a food processor until very smooth. Makes 1 cup.

VARIATION: WINTER PESTO:

1/8 c. dry basil leaves
5 cloves garlic (or 1 tsp. garlic salt)
1/3 c. olive oil
1 c. chopped parsley
1/4 - 1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Blend in food processor until very smooth.
