CONGO BARS 
2 3/4 unsifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. shortening
2 1/4 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 c. chopped nuts
1 bag chocolate chips

Mix together flour, salt and baking powder; put aside. Melt shortening and stir in brown sugar. Beat in 3 eggs, one at a time. Add flour mixture until well blended. Mix in nuts and chocolate chips.

Pour into greased wax paper lined pan 9x13x2 inches. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. When almost cooled, cut into squares.
