CONGO BARS 
1 lb. light brown sugar
2/3 c. shortening
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chocolate bits

Melt sugar and shortening; add eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and combine. Add chocolate bits and spread on 10"x15" pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
