FUDGE PIE
1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
3 sq. unsweetened chocolate (melted)
3 eggs, beaten with a fork
3/4 c. flour (sift before measuring)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)

Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the melted chocolate, the eggs and the vanilla. Stir in the flour and the nuts. Pour into a 9 inch buttered pie plate.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 and bake for approximately 20 more minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE. Center of "pie" should be soft but set.

This "pie" can be cut into 8-10 wedges. It can be served plain (perhaps sprinkled with powdered sugar), with whipped cream or with ice cream.

For more chocolate - the ice cream could be topped with the hot fudge sauce! See "Puffy Hot Fudge Sauce".
