PINEAPPLE ANGEL FOOD
REFRIGERATOR DESSERT
 
2 pkgs. unflavored gelatin
1/2 c. cold water
3 egg yolks
2 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1 (1 lb.) can crushed pineapple
3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
10 marshmallows, quartered
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
1 Angel Food cake, baked

Soften 2 packages of unflavored gelatin in 1/2 cup cold water. Beat 3 egg yolks until thick. Ad 2 cups milk and 1 cup sugar and beat thoroughly. Cook this custard until it coats the spoon. Add the softened gelatin and stir until dissolved; cool. To the custard, add 1 pound can of crushed pineapple. fold in 3 stiffly beaten egg whites, 10 marshmallows, quartered and 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped. Break an Angel Food cake into small pieces. Line a 9 x 13 inch pan with the cake pieces. our 1/2 of the gelatin mixture over the cake crumbs. Add more cake pieces and then pour the rest of the gelatin mix over it. Sprinkle a dusting of graham cracker crumbs over the top to decorate if desired. Refrigerate. Top slices with whipped cream.
