HONEY BRAN BREAD | |
3 tbsp. butter 1/3 c. honey 1 c. water 1 c. milk 5 1/2 - 6 c. flour 3/4 c. bran 2 pkgs. dry yeast 2 tsp. salt Heat first 4 ingredients to 120 degrees. In large bowl mix 3 cups flour, bran, yeast, salt and warmed milk mixture. Mix until well blended and gradually add enough flour to make a stiff dough. This can be done with a mixer with dough hooks or by hand. Knead until well mixed, about 4 to 5 minutes. Place in greased bowl, turn to grease top. Cover and let rise until double. Turn onto floured board, divide into 2 equal parts. Knead each loaf until all air bubbles are out, shape into loaf and put into greased 9"x5"x3" pans. Let rise until nicely rounded over top of pan. Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Turn out on wire rack to cool. |
