SWEET-SOUR PICKLES 
Cucumbers, sm. or cut up
2 c. vinegar
1 c. water
1 c. sugar
Few mixed pickling spices in a bag

Put cucumbers in bowl; sprinkle with salt. Pour boiling water over and let set overnight. Next day, drain. Boil remaining ingredients. Drop cucumbers into juice and bring to a boil again. Fill jar and seal.
