SWEET AND SOUR PICKLES 
18 med. cukes, cut into pieces
2 lbs. onions, sliced
2 med. heads cauliflower, broken into flowerettes

Place vegetables into a large bowl. Pour over 1 cup pickling salt dissolved in 8 cups cold water. Let stand overnight and in morning drain. Rinse. Pack vegetables into clean jars. Pour brine over and seal.

8 c. vinegar
6 c. white sugar
2 tbsp. pickling spice
Pinch of alum

Process in hot water bath to seal. Makes 11 panties.
