4 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Yield: 7 dozen.

Combine flour and baking soda in a small bowl and set aside.

Melt butter and shortening over low heat.

Cream together the melted butter, shortening mixture, both sugars and vanilla. Beat eggs into the wet mixture. Combine wet mixture and dry flour mixture.

Drop onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-9 minutes. Cool.
