1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 egg
1 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Reserve 2/3 cup dry cake mix. Put in large bowl. Add butter and 1 egg; mix until crumbly. Press into 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees until golden brown.
