BEST-EVER BREAD AND BUTTER
PICKLES
 
1 gallon sliced pickling cucumbers (40-50)
3 med. sliced white onions
1/2 c. salt
1 qt. vinegar
4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. celery seeds
2 tbsp. mustard seeds
1 tbsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground turmeric
1/2 tsp. white pepper

Mix sliced cucumbers and onions with salt and put in refrigerator until they are crisp and cold. Mix remaining ingredients; bring quickly to a boil, boil 10 minutes. Add cucumbers and onions and bring to a boil. Pack loosely at once in hot jars. Process in boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Remove jars from water and complete seals. Makes 8 pints.
