BEEF CURRY - WITH APPLE 
2 lbs. boneless beef, cut into 1 inch cubes
3 tbsp. flour
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
3 tbsp. drippings (or oil)
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. curry powder
3 whole cloves
2 tsp. sugar
1 lg. onion, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic
1 c. water
3 lg. tart apples, cut into eighths
1 c. raisins (opt.)
Cooked rice

Combine flour, salt, pepper and dredge meat. Brown meat in drippings. Pour off excess. Add bay leaf, curry, cloves, sugar, onion, garlic and water. Cover tightly and cook slowly for 2 hours. Add apple and raisins and cook 45 minutes. Discard bay leaf and garlic and serve over rice. Serves 6.
