BUTTERSCOTCH PIE 
1 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. cornstarch
2 egg yolks
2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix brown sugar, salt, and cornstarch together. Add egg yolks, milk and vanilla, and cook over low heat until thick. Cool and pour in crust.

MERINGUE:

Mix 2 tablespoons sugar, 2 teaspoons cornstarch and 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar. Beat the egg whites until stiff. Fold in sugar mixture. Spread on pie and brown in oven.
