POKE CAKE 
1 box yellow cake mix
1 box Jello, any flavor
1 box chocolate instant pudding
1 (12 oz.) container Cool Whip

1. Bake cake according to package instructions in a 9 x 13 inch pan and let cool.

2. Make Jello with boiling water, do not let it gel.

3. Poke about a dozen holes in cake with the handle of a wooden spoon.

4. Pour liquid Jello over cake.

5. Make instant pudding and spread over cake.

6. Top with a layer of Cool Whip and refrigerate until firm.

I find this is even better if you refrigerate in between each layer step (letting the Jello set before adding pudding, and letting the pudding chill before adding whipped topping). In my opinion, this cake tastes best chilled.

Also, this cake can be made with any flavor combo, but the one I keep going back to is yellow cake, raspberry Jello, and banana pudding. It just tastes so refreshing and scrumptious; it feels lighter that chocolate would. I make my dad this cake every year on his birthday, and he is highly affronted if I ever propose trying a different recipe. Everyone who's tried it loves this cake.
