SCOTCH SHORTBREAD 
1 c. unsalted butter
1/2 c. light brown sugar
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Soften butter, add sugar gradually, add flour sifted with baking powder and salt. Roll 1/2 inch thick, cut in shapes, prick with fork. Bake 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. 24 cookies.
