CHRUSCIKI (Polish Twists) | |
5 egg yolks 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. brandy or rum 2 1/2 c. flour 5 tbsp. sour cream Pinch of salt Confectioners' sugar Beat yolks until lemon colored. Add sugar and beat until smooth. Blend in brandy. Add flour and salt alternately with sour cream. Mix until a soft dough forms. Knead on lightly floured board. Roll out to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into strips 3 x 1 1/2 inches. Make a short slit in center and pull one end through slit. Fry in shortening until light brown. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with 10X sugar. |
