LAZY DAISY OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. quick oats
1/2 c. soft butter
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

TOPPING:

1/4 c. melted butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
3 tbsp. cream
3/4 c. coconut
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Pour water over the oats and let stand for 20 minutes. Beat butter until creamy, gradually beat in sugar, blend in vanilla and eggs. Stir in oat mixture. Stir in dry ingredients. Blend well and pour into a prepared 9 inch square pan. Cook at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes. Let cake cool, mix topping and spread on the cake. Broil for 1 to 2 minutes.
