CRACKLIN' BREAD 
1 c. cracklin's (broken in pieces)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. white cornmeal
1 c. sour milk
2 tbsp. melted fat

Mix and sift dry ingredients. Add milk. Stir in cracklin's and sour milk. Blend together well. Form oblong cakes from dough; roll in melted shortening (fat).

Bake in a well greased baking dish for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cracklin's the little pieces of pork fat or fatty meats left after the fat's been rendered from them.
