STUFFED CABBAGE | |
1 med. cabbage 3 celery stalks, chopped 1 lg. onion, chopped 1 lb. hamburger 3 shakes mint leaves 3/4 c. rice 1 sm. can tomato paste Salt and pepper to taste Wash cabbage leaves. Remove leaves, cut larger leaves in half. Quickly boil in water (making sure the leaves are not covered) or steam the leaves. Takes about 20 minutes. Remove leaves from water, and set aside. Combine together onion, celery, 1/2 cup water, mint leaves, salt and pepper. Mix well. Add hamburger, tomato paste and rice. In your blender, combine together onion, celery, 1/2 cup water, mint leaves, salt and pepper. Remove this mixture to a mixing bowl and add hamburger, tomato paste and rice. Mix well. Stuff each cabbage leaf, fold sides over, and roll up. Place in saucepan and cook on top of stove. Add water (DO NOT COVER CABBAGE). Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for about one hour. |
