CHOCOLATE COVERED CHERRIES 
1/4 c. butter, melted
2 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tbsp. milk
2 (10 oz.) jars cherries, well drained
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate morsels
2 tbsp. shortening

Cream butter, confectioners' sugar and milk. Knead into a ball on surface sprinkled with confectioners' sugar. Flatten 1 teaspoon of dough between fingers into 2" round. Mold around cherry to cover, completely leaving stem exposed. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.

Place chocolate and shortening in large glass measuring cup. Microwave on medium 3 to 5 minutes. Holding cherry stem, dip into chocolate to cover cherry. Place on waxed paper. Drizzle left over chocolate on cherries. Place in refrigerator 15 minutes to set. Makes 3 dozen.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
