2 c. all-purpose flour 1 tbsp. sugar 4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. shortening 1 beaten egg 2/3 c. milk Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine eggs and milk, add to flour mixture all at once. Stir until flour follows fork around bowl. Turn on lightly floured surface. Knead and roll about 20 times. Roll dough to 3/4 inch thickness. Press cutter straight down. Do not twist. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in 450 degree oven for 10- 14 minutes or until golden brown. |
