CANDIED SWEET POTATOES 
2 lbs. sweet potatoes or yams
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. salt

Boil sweet potatoes until tender. Peel and cut into thick slices. Mix brown sugar, butter, water and salt in skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until bubbly. Add yams; coat with mixture. Place in baking dish and bake uncovered for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
