PASSOVER DATE NUT BARS 
1 c. finely chopped almonds or walnuts
3/4 c. matzo meal
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 c. pitted dates
1/4 c. orange juice
2 tsp. grated orange peel

Beat nuts with matzo meal, sugar and butter until crumbly and moist. Reserve 1/4 cup. Firmly pat remainder into bottom of 9 inch baking pan. Chop dates; beat with orange juice and peel until spreadable. Spread carefully over crumb base. Sprinkle with reserved topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour. Cool, cut into squares.
