CHOCOLATE FUDGE 
3 lb. granulated sugar
1 pt. white corn syrup
1 lb. butter
1 1/2 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients except vanilla in large heavy pan; mix and bring to a boil VERY SLOWLY, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil. Cook without stirring until it reaches a GOOD STRONG soft ball stage (238-240 degrees). Remove from heat; add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat with a mixer (or by hand) until cool. The more it is beaten the better. When it is almost ready to pour into buttered pan, add 1 cup walnuts or other nuts if desired. Cut into pieces when cool and set.

Makes 5-6 pounds of delicious creamy fudge. Good to send to our military service people.
