TANNIE'S CUSTARD FRENCH TOAST 
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk or light cream
4 slices sweet or sour dough French bread, 1 inch thick
2-3 tbsp. butter

Mix eggs, flour, sugar, salt and baking powder until smooth. Stir in milk. Pour over bread in pan and let bread soak 30 minutes or over night, turning slices at least once. Melt butter over medium heat. Spoon remaining batter over bread. Cook 5 minutes each side.
