GOLDEN CAKE 
2 1/8 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. soft shortening (I use butter)
1 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in large bowl. Add butter, milk and vanilla. Then add 3 eggs. Mix with electric mixer until mixture is light, fluffy and thick. Pour into 13 x 9 inch pan or 2 layers and cook for 30 to 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean at 350 degrees. Makes a large cake, very moist. Frost with favorite topping. A very tried and true recipe.
