CHAMPION CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1/2 c. Crisco
3/4 c. white sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. sour milk (1 c. milk plus 1 tbsp. vinegar)
2 tsp. baking soda
1 3/4 c. flour
2/3 c. cocoa
1/2 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. vanilla

Stir baking soda into sour milk; set aside. Cream together Crisco and sugars. Add eggs. Add milk solution. Mix together flour and cocoa and add to other ingredients. Beat well. Add hot water and vanilla and beat on high speed a couple minutes. Bake in a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Use cake tester to make sure center is done. While cake is still warm, add topping and BROIL 5 inches from heat for approximately 3 minutes or until slightly browned and bubbly. CAUTION - burns easily.

TOPPING:

1/4 c. soft butter
2/3 c. brown sugar
3 tbsp. milk
1/4 c. peanut butter

Beat all ingredients together thoroughly. Spread evenly over warm cake. Broil according to directions above.
