1 c. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Put the butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a medium bowl. Mix them all together until creamy, then, add the flour, salt, nutmeg, and baking soda. Mix for about a minute. Wrap the dough in waxed paper and put it in the freezer for about 3 hours or until firm.

While the dough is in the freezer, think of some animals to make. When the dough is firm, form your animals on an ungreased cookie sheet. You can cut the dough into shapes or squeeze and sculpt it with your hands. Bake your cookies for 10 minutes in a 400 degree oven.
